Review by hotel critic
During our recent two-night stay at Gages Mill, we found it to be a delightful family-friendly retreat. Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Ashburton, our cozy room overlooked serene gardens—perfect for morning reflections after yoga. Kate and Nathan made us feel instantly at home, offering invaluable tips for nearby activities. One of our highlights was the impressive breakfast, featuring a variety of choices that catered to all ages, making it a perfect start for family adventures. We enjoyed a short walk to the Dartmoor Lodge for dinner, which was convenient after a day exploring the area's stunning landscapes. For families with active kids, the hotel provides garden games that were a hit with our little one, and we appreciated the location, central to beautiful coastal walks in Salcombe and hope cove. We left Gages Mill feeling rejuvenated and excited to return for future family vacations, knowing it offered a welcoming atmosphere and access to abundant outdoor activities.
